STAFF at a Dodworth furniture factory set up to create work for the disabled fear bosses are deliberately running the business down.

It is claimed that thousands of pounds worth of work has been dumped and bids for contracts are being fixed too high for a realistic chance of success.

Barnsley Remploy is under threat of closure as part of plans to modernise the company and shift its emphasis onto supporting the disabled in mainstream employment.

The Fall Bank industrial estate site employs about 40 disabled workers and Dave Asquith has worked there for 17 years.

Last week he witnessed between £3,000 and £5,000 worth of shelving goods being thrown into a skip without apparent reason.
