Anyone who stumbled into a slimming group meeting at a Monk Bretton church hall could have been forgiven for thinking they were in the wrong place seeing cheesecakes, cupcakes and gateaux in abundance.
Fortunately, the Slimming World members at St Paul's church hall hadn't given up on their diets and dreams of glorious bodies, they were eating cake for a cause more important than their waistlines - the Macmillan charity.
And what a good job they did too, raising a whopping £810 through a combination of the coffee morning and a sponsored walk.
The group's consultant, Michelle Bucknall, said: "It was a great effort by everyone and proof that you can eat a little of what you fancy, lose weight and help a really good cause at the same time."
