A HOUSE in Royston, bricked up for over three years, has been branded an eye sore.

Tommy Birmingham, lives next door to the house on Church Hill and says contacting the Chronicle was the last resort in trying to get the derelict terraced house renovated.

He says when number 52 became empty three and a half years ago, the owner bricked up the doors and windows and put up a sign saying the house wasn't for sale. It has been deteriorating ever since.

Tommy believes it is causing damp in his own house and it is rife with rats and mice.

The council sent a letter to the owner in December asking him to tidy up the place but Tommy says nothing has been done.
