A WOMBWELL boy is set to have his fourth major brain operation in 12 months after being diagnosed with a rare condition last year.
Alfie Ledgeway, three, from West Street, was diagnosed with chiari malformation in June. The condition means the lower part of Alfie's brain is being pushed towards his spinal cord, below the entrance to the skull, causing him constant headaches, balance problems and increasing difficulties with his eyesight.
The family is looking at fitting the outside patio of their specially adapted bungalow to make it safe for Alfie to play outside.
