MORE than £1,000 was raised for charity from a football match held in a Darfield girl's memory.

Darcy's Cup is played annually in the memory of six-year old Darcy Jo-Burke who died of an inoperable brain tumour in 2014.

Sixteen teams have battled it out over the past two months, but the cup came to a dramatic finish on Sunday at Wombwell Main in a closely-fought game between Worsbrough B and Lundwood. The final result was 4-2 to Worsbrough B.

The £1,390 raised so far will all go to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.
