AN IMMIGRATION protest planned for Barnsley town centre could crucify Christmas trade for retailers, the chairman of Barnsley Civic Trust has warned.
More than 1,600 people have been invited to attend the ‘Barnsley Immigration Demonstration’ outside Barnsley Town Hall on December 12 at 2pm.
The ‘It’s not immigration it’s invasion’ rally has been organised by Dale Kelk, a member of the right wing group South Yorkshire Casuals II.
Owen Gleadall, chairman of Barnsley Civic Trust, said it will be a disaster for town centre trade as it coincides with what is traditionally one the busiest Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.
