The future of Brierley Church has been secured thanks to grants from English Heritage of almost £100,000.
Father Peter Needham has received news his application for cash to help pay for essential structural works at St Pauls had been approved.
English Heritage will contribute £88, 000 towards works to be done over two phases and £9, 000 towards architects and other fees.
Father Peter said had the money not been granted the condition of the church would have worsened and led to closure.
