A DEMENTIA support charity in Barnsley is celebrating after being awarded more than £200,000 in lottery funding to save its activities’ service.
Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support group intends to use the £231,086 grant to develop new activities as well as continuing with those it already provides such as holidays, day trips, singing groups, Jabadao exercise, gym sessions and life story work to name a few.
The 50 BIADS’ members enjoying one of its organised holidays to Llandudno were given the good news and their reaction was of one of ‘relief, happiness and gratitude’, said the charity’s chief officer Linda Pattison.
