TWO sisters took the spirit and sounds of Christmas directly to shoppers in Barnsley to raise cash for the hospice.
Musicians Anna and Phoebe Benfell took their instruments with them to Tesco at Stairfoot and with the store’s approval played Christmas carols and songs.
Alongside them was a collection bucket so shoppers could make a seasonal donation to the hospice.
Anna, 13 and 10-year-old Phoebe from Royston, had already been entertaining residents at local nursing homes in memory of their great-grandma Betty Moore who died just more than a year ago.
The girls, from Berkeley Croft, Royston, decided to put their clarinet and violin lessons to good use and got permission to busk at Tesco to raise cash for Barnsley Hospice.
