A GRIMETHORPE man has hit out at heartless thieves who targeted his vehicle - just three days after his wife of 44 years died.
Anthony Johnson, of Raymond Avenue, woke up to find his car trashed on February 18 after yobs struck in the early hours of the morning.
The 65-year-old’s wife, Julie, died from a heart attack on Valentine’s Day.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed they are investigating the theft, as well as a second incident on Raymond Avenue, and appealed for information.
A spokesman from South Yorkshire Police said: “Sometime between 10pm on February 17 and 8am the following morning, it is believed that a car was broken into in Raymond Avenue.
“A satellite navigation system and a tablet is thought to have been stolen from the car.
“A second incident is believed to have occurred in the same area at about 12.15am on February 18.
“A phone, camera and another satellite navigation was reportedly stolen from the car.
“Police investigating the incidents are looking to trace a man who is described as white, aged in his early 20s and who was wearing a grey hooded top with a white panel across the chest and back, blue jogging bottoms and trainers.
“We ask anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or saw any suspicious activity in the area to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 262 of February 18.”
