A WOMBWELL man is counting his pennies with some unusual artwork.
Artist Shaun Gaggs, 46, from Barnsley Road, has risen to international acclaim with his sculptures - crafted entirely from two pence pieces.
Shaun, who now lives in Filey, makes everything from nude figures to large eggs with the small change. His work has been sold in Sweden, America and France. And he is currently hard at work crafting 150ft yacht, for display at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
Shaun said: “Once a fortnight I pick up £100 worth of two pences from the bank, and one of my friends runs a slot machine arcade on the sea front. I used to work all in stone, but now because of the components there are no limits to what I can do.”
