BARNSLEY student Elsie Harrogate's impromptu trip to Stockholm in Sweden has helped raise more than £2,000 for a children’s cancer charity.
Elsie, 19, of Ladycroft Lane, Hemingfield, was involved in a jailbreak event for Kidscan, and she and friends Sophia Steinberg and Scott Wilson managed to make it to Stockholm without spending a penny.
The aim is to travel as far as possible in 30 hours without spending any money.
The environmental geography student at York University and her team, The Passengers consisted of University of York students raised £2,428 of the £12,019 attracted by the event.
