PROPOSALS to allow Barnsley Council to deliver a new modern library in the heart of the town centre have been approved by council bosses.

The ruling members gave the go ahead to proceed with the plans and also noted an increase in costs to pay for the fit out of the building, expected to be about an extra £480,000.
