A PENSIONER fears emergency vehicles will not be able to reach homes on a private road because indiscriminate parking is blocking access.
Allen Darrington has lived on the numbers 190 - 220 stretch of New Road at Staincross for 40 years.
The stretch is an uneven patchwork of gravel, concrete and tarmacadam that serves a row of terraced cottages at the bottom, a new detached house adjacent to the cottages and about half a dozen homes at the top, where Mr Darrington lives.
Mr Darrington, 75, said inconsiderate parking already causes a problem with bin collections, often preventing clear access for the wagon which has to reverse up the narrow street.
But his biggest worry is should there be a medical emergency an ambulance will not be able to reach the top of the private road because of parked cars causing an obstruction.
