AN ELDERLY Smithies woman got trapped between her garden fence and a car in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Fire crews from Barnsley Station were called to Hartington Drive at around 1.30am to free the lady who became trapped by her legs after falling from a wall.

Fire-fighters manhandled the car out of the way and the pensioner was taken to Barnsley hospital for a check up.
