A TRAFFIC management scheme is being looked at by Old Town ward councillors in a bid to curb and control ‘indiscriminate and dangerous parking’ in the area.
The scheme has been identified as part of the Old Town Ward Plan put together by ward alliance members, a panel made up of local councillors and residents.
Couns Anita Cherryholme and Phil Lofts have been leading on the proposals to apply for a traffic regulation order that would cover areas including Summer Lane, Pogmoor, Victoria Crescent, Summer Lane and Greenfoot Lane areas of the Old Town ward.
No official scheme has yet been drawn up and it is still in the discussion stages but should it go ahead, the order would see no waiting restrictions brought in to control indiscriminate and dangerous parking.
