BARNSLEY are ‘very fortunate’ that their squad have suffered relatively few injuries during a busy start to the season, says Conor Hourihane.
Marc Roberts, Georgie Gent and Fabio Jalo are all out long-term but the rest of the squad is fit after Mael de Gevigney returned in midweek.
The Reds will have played eight games in August by the time they host Huddersfield Town on Saturday then have two weeks until their next game.
Hourihane said: “The players are all fine and the squad is pretty much intact which is very important because we don’t have the depth of squad.
“We want to get through Saturday then give any little knocks or bruises a little bit of time.
“Everyone is doing work in-house everyday to make sure the lads are in shape.
“The only notable injury, for someone who started the season, was Robbo and that’s not going to change any time soon. Georgie and Fabio are longer-term. We’re fortunate how we’re looking at the minute.”
