A TINY tearaway who has terrorised a Kexborough neighbourhood for years could be one of the youngest ever to get an ASBO.

He stays out all night, drinks and smokes and has threatened several relatives with a knife.

Lewis Green is aged 10.

Now a council meeting has been arranged to discuss the best way to handle him and Neighbourhood Safety Unit manager Paul Brannan said: “There are two issues to consider. One is the welfare of the community and the behavioural issues and the other is the welfare of the family and Lewis in particular.”

His mum Steph finds Lewis such hard work she has considered suicide.

He has threatened several relatives, including mum Steph, with a knife, damaged property including cars, threatens people and is abusive.

Lewis’s antics have nearly forced her and lorry driver husband Derek, 37, to separate on several occasions.

Steph, 39, a cleaner at Darton High school, said: “Last week he attacked his grandma with a knife. I am fed up to the back teeth. I nearly topped myself last year and was put on antidepressants.

“A child at that age should be tucked up in bed and going to school every day but he ran off on Monday.

“He's just sleeping rough and hanging around - getting up to anything and hanging around with older lads.”

She has approached social services and begged them to take care of Lewis so she can have a break.
