AVID fundraiser Rachael Addy will take her fundraising efforts to new heights this year - all while dressed as Batman.
Rachael, the activities co-ordinator at Mapplewell care home Deangate, is well-known for her fundraising exploits.
She’s raised thousands to support the work going off at Deangate and this year is no different.
But instead of completing just one fundraiser, it’ll be three.
She will be climbing up and over the O2 in London, abseiling down the side of Anfield and bungee jumping in Whitby.
And she’ll certainly be dressing for the occasion, attempting to use some of Batman’s courage while donning his outfit.
She told the Chronicle: “I’ve jumped out of a plane dressed as Superwoman last year I went swimming with sharks and this year I didn’t know what I was going to do.
“I was speaking to the residents and they mentioned three things so I thought I’d go all out and do all of them.
“My four-year-old absolutely loves Batman so I thought ‘why not?’
“It’s the bungee jump I am petrified about so I think I need to summon a bit of Batman’s bravery to do that.
“The money raised will be going into the residents’ fund and we’re also giving a donation to BIADS as well.
“A lot of our families rely on their service so we want to give back to them.
“My mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s as well so it’s an even bigger drive for me.”
