BARNSLEY Music Service is inviting families and residents to support thousands of young local performers at two events taking place at the Metrodome this week.

The events will showcase and celebrate the talent, creativity and hard work of children and young people from across the borough.

The Key Stage Two Music Festival will take place over three days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with performances at 10.30am and 1.30pm each day.

The festival will welcome 51 classes from dozens of primary schools, with more than 1,500 children taking part across the three days.

Councillor Andy Cudworth, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and assets, said: “These events are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible talent we have in Barnsley.

“Barnsley Music Service plays such an important role in supporting young people to develop their musical skills and confidence, and it’s wonderful to see so many children and families coming together to enjoy live performances.

“I’d encourage anyone who can to come along and show their support - it promises to be a brilliant showcase of music from across our borough.”
