A BELOVED teaching assistant’s long spell at a school has been celebrated after she announced this term was to be her last.
Dawn Darnbrough, 62, from Monk Bretton, was the woman of the hour in an assembly held on Wednesday at Holy Rood Primary School, where she has worked for the last 26 years.
It’s safe to say that Dawn will be missed by staff and pupils alike, with Head of School Lois Heald reflecting on Dawn’s time at the school.
She said: “After 26 years of dedicated service, we say a fond farewell to Dawn as she begins her next adventure, retirement.
“Of course, no tribute would be complete without mentioning her legendary raffle ticket sales.
“Thanks to her enthusiasm and determination, she helped raise significant funds for the benefit of our children.
“We thank Dawn for her years of commitment, friendship, humour and dedication, and wish her every happiness in the future.”
