CHRISTMAS shoppers in Barnsley will be faced with a stark reminder of the dangers of drink driving on Saturday.
From 1pm until 4pm shoppers visiting Barnsley Town Hall will come face to face with a crashed car to illustrate the horrific results of what can happen if you drink and drive.
The mangled Vauxhall Corsa has been obtained by the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership as part of its annual Christmas drink-drive campaign.
Members of the public will also be able to try on a pair of so-called “beer goggles” to literally see for themselves how their vision and senses are impaired through both drink and drugs.
