Elliot Lee has become the second player to agree personal terms with Barnsley FC this week and joins his former Colchester United colleague George Moncur at Oakwell.
The 21-year-old attacker is a free transfer following his release by West Ham United, for whom he made seven appearances and scored once in the Europa League at Andorran side FC Lusitans last July.
He has been loaned out to Southend, Luton, Blackpool and most recently Colchester for whom he netted twice in 15 games earlier this year.
A club statement said: "Barnsley Football Club is delighted to confirm that West Ham United striker Elliot Lee has today agreed personal terms at Oakwell and will join the Reds ahead of the 2016/17 season."
