THIS little girls’ condition was so contagious, her doctor had to diagnose her condition by telephone.

Ellie-Mae Miller, two, of West Street, Hoyland, was diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease, a viral infection that can affect young children, and now a public warning has been issued after a case in Jump.

The illness causes cold-like symptoms, loss of appetite, cough and a high temperature.

This week, Hoyland and Jump children’s centre released a public health warning, telling parents what to do to prevent infection, after one confirmed case at Jump.
